Air Conditioning Efficiency How Do I Add Central Air Conditioning To A 100 Years Old House?

How Do I Add Central Air Conditioning to A 100 Years Old House? - air conditioning efficiency

My house is 100 years old and forced hot air heat. The furnace is gas efficiency of 90% and 5 years. I have 7 years of age is the central air conditioning system, which is used but in very good shape. Who knows if we can somehow combine the two. I am very conscious of costs, I would do myself.

If this is not of ideas.
Thanks

I would like to recommend a device does not damage the window the appearance of an old manor house is probably not insulated so that at least one or two comfortable bedrooms and a bedroom, a window unit can be removed without the unpleasant appearance of your home, and much cheaper in the long run .

First, it can be done, but remember these things. Your old a / c unit. How long has it been sitting? It was a blank shot at the condensing unit when it mined? To install the same device is used to enhance the knowledge and tools to access to air conditioning. They must be certified by the state to deal with freon. You should be able to solder copper pipe, and pro forma for many other tasks such as installing a new filter dryer, changing the metal plate in the oven with the A-coil contact, etc. "are the thermostat reconnected, you can not enough 18ga wire thermostat in the existing configuration and get it running on a different serial cable to a device outside the condensation. A 220-volt power supply must be installed by an electrician, etc.
You can think about this first. Good luck!

Frankly, given the age of the house, you do not want to ruin the integrity of the same thing with this kind of project. You really need to consult a professional. Perhaps you could find who is willing to work with you or use your computer in order to reduce costs. Most companies offer free advice in the house to get an appointment.

Good luck!

In fact, it would be great, A / C here, there is more to consider than the A / C unit should be for each house to consider the isolation and will not cost an arm and a leg / c house when their ceiling insulation, walls and windows. Most old houses have no insulation. Maybe he was just a room with a window unit, I speak from experience and my old house was cool, but the heat and humidity and the huge electricity bills.
